It's possible that this might be the same bug as #257 
(cleared PCA calculations reappearing). Need to check back
with JMG before I can do anything with this one.

Despite several attempts I was never able to reproduce this.
No further details available so I'm closing it. The suspected
duplicate (a88/05d) was fixed long ago, which might be the
reason for teh irreproducibility.
